East-End Operations Centre

Description: 

IPM was hired by an undisclosed public utility to assist with the consolidation and relocation of their east-end operations to a newly renovated 258,000 sf facility. The new facility will consolidate numerous departments (Fleet, Warehouse, Facilities Group, IT, Administration, Security, etc.) into a single, centralized east GTA location to help improve the efficiency of their east-end operations. The project included 79,000 sf of open office space, meeting rooms, conference rooms and executive suites to serve the Administration Department; 72,000 sf of indoor garage space complimented by a 8,370 sf maintenance bay for Fleet Services; 58,000 sf of warehouse space including loading docks, shipping/receiving bays and crew storage facilities; provisions for a future Data Centre and Control Centre; as well as, a new exterior storage yard and equipment recycling centre. The mass facility renovation also included new state-of-the-art mechanical and electrical systems with back-up power and redundancy systems. This fast-track and complex construction project spanned two years and was handed over to the Client in accordance with the approved schedule and budget.

West-End Operations Centre

IPM was retained by an undisclosed public utility provider to assist in their Facilities Consolidation Project. This capital program involved the conversion of an existing 191,000 sf facility to accommodate and consolidate the existing west-end operations (Fleet, Warehouse, Facilities Group, IT, Administration, Security, etc.) into a single, centralized location to help improve efficiency in operations and service. The project began with detailed property investigations, feasibility studies and concept designs in order to select the most suitable location. The project was completed in phases and started with a full interior demolition and a roof lift before proceeding with building shell and interior renovations. The fast-track construction spanned approximately 20 months and the building was delivered to the Client in accordance with the established schedule and budget.
