In late 2016, our Client officially relocated their west-end operations to their newly renovated 191,000 sf Operations Centre.
The project involved the extensive renovation of an existing warehouse/factory into four distinct operational spaces:
- Administrative Offices – 86,000 sf of open concept office space and meeting rooms was created by raising approximately 41,000 sf of existing roof and constructing a second floor within the existing building footprint.
- Marshalling Services – A large space for Marshalling Operations was designed complete with associated shower and locker facilities as well as a Trades Training Facility.
- Fleet Services – Our Client’s service vehicle fleet found a new home in 48,000 sf of indoor garage space complimented by 13,000 sf of exterior storage with covered canopy.
- Warehouse – Ongoing operations are assisted by way of 38,000 sf of warehouse space including loading docks and storage facilities.
The mass facility renovation also included all new building shell upgrades and all new state-of-the-art mechanical and electrical systems with back-up power.
The new facility will consolidate numerous departments (Fleet, Warehouse, Facilities Group, IT, Administration, Security, etc.) into a single, centralized location to help improve efficiency in operations and service.
The fast-track construction spanned approximately 20 months and the building was delivered in accordance with the established schedule and budget.
